bakery twine....ohhh..ahhh..

i looked and looked for this bakery cake box twine. i wanted it bad for this invite. i finally found it online but it came to late. but let me tell you how happy i am that i finally have it. it should last me my lifetime but that is okay with me. endless possibilities. ( i thinkin bout christmas packages.) i used it here with my favorite set by lizzie anne designs.

frustration

for the last three years i have said that i am not going to be a stampin up! demonstrator any longer. then the mailman brings me this. i am sorry to the husband, but i need just a little longer. the new catalog is dreamy.

glad they are back

it was a little disheartening when aprilcornell.com went away. i felt like i had fallen in love with this cute line of clothing before i had a girl and then they went away when lola was born. my husband would say "good timing." but guess what? they are backkkkkk! can i tell you that they have the yummiest little girl dresses. i was able to find a few on ebay in the past. they also have great clothes for me. (although i always only buy for the kids.) if you need some home pretties, tablecloths and placemats a plenty.

talent

this blog that i have been lurking this week makes me happy. i would love to have one of her floral arrangements in every room of my house. fresh flowers make me happy. i attempt to make them pretty but these are amazing. wow! such art with flowers. i will definitely be keeping up on her new posts. wish i would have know her when i got married. imagine having these at your tables.

polka dots for me

the last few days when porter wakes up he will say to me "happy birthday mom". i just say "thanks porter" in efforts to drag out any special behavior (or gifts). so in honor of my extended birthday i think i will head on over to macy's to grab this oh so polka dotted cake plate or set of four plates. hopefully it is not just online.

love these dresses

i was talking to my friend this week, we were talking about this company olive juice. so i had to go check out their current line and i can't decide which dress i love the most. but i think that we need a new dress around here for lola. i am a sucker for a navy dress. and i love love the red and white checked shirt. they have some great items on sale right now. they also have great clothes for boys! i just had to post about the dresses, i needed to share.

o how i have missed this store. i used to live around the corner from a hobby lobby. i fell in love. they opened a hobby lobby in Layton, Ut and i have been there a few times but south jordan is closer and i am excited to become a regular again. i called again today and they have pushed the opening back to june 18th. bummer. i was going to go tomorrow. check out their weekly specials. best frames. great holiday stuff. scrapbook galore. beads and findings. fabrics. home dec. art supplies. kids crafts. sales and sales. much more. see you there.

i waited one day

well the wait is over. i said that i was going to stay away for awhile until the crowds died down. i stayed away one day. there are many things that i miss from our chicago days! ikea is high on the list. tonight as we walked toward the front doors my mind was flooded with memories. i was not to happy to move to chicago in 2003. i was 8 months pregnant, two sprained ankles, leaving everything comfortable, leaving family and friends. day two of living there we ventured to IKEA. it made me happy. so we went and went and went and went. we would drive 45 min to go get batteries and ice cream cones for sully. i have many found memories of chicago. and now we will create new IKEA memories here in utah. mount IKEA

the kids were tired.

WHERE DIGGERS ARE BORN

Part of my trip to the southeast last week included the opportunity to take a tour at Komatsu's Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation. The boys prefer to call it the digger factory. The "wow" factor of big machines was overwhelming at this place. The same attention to quality control that makes manufacturers like Sony and Toyota famous is built into every machine that goes down the line. Komatsu will never be the household name that Caterpillar is, but my boys are always ready to talk about the best diggers in the world.

lola really needs these clips. i found them here. i have been trying to find the metal parts in the no-slip version so that i can attempt to make them myself. we will see what i find. but o how cute, to bad they come from australia. they have a cute site.

i must say i love philosophy. any of their products make me happy. especially this one, i did the peel this morning and it is the best. great presents for moms day! this, this, and this are so so yummy. i love their old school pictures and a philosophy on each product. just thought i would pass along some of my faves. they are cheaper here.
